Born in 1953 in Louny, Czechoslovakia, Zdenek Janda studied painting privately from 1968 to 1974 and has been a freelance artist since 1978. Janda’s style of magical realism was adapted from medieval painting techniques from Cenino Cenini (II Libro dell Arte, 1437) and applied to the detailed execution of his work.
