Russ Mills: Illustration
Today’s image is by UK artist Russ Mills. Mills studied Foundation at Northbrook College in Worthing and then illustration at Leeds Met. University and specialized in film and animation.
To create his pieces, Mills compiles as much source material as possible in the form of textures, random marks, and scribbles, etc. He then scans these materials and the primary image and manipulates the parts digitally. He keeps the amount of layers to a minimum so the results are as spontaneous as possible. He doesn’t use any filters in order to keep the “digital” nature of the image to a minimum.
