Geek Art: Alex Dragulescu

In honour of Nerd Pride Day, I present the geeky creations of Romanian born artist Alex Dragulescu. Dragulescu’s images are based on algorithms designed to transform internet maladies such as spam, phishing, and computer viruses into intriguing works of art.

Dragulescu has a BS in Cinema and Photography from Ithaca College and a Masters of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from University of California at San Diego. His work has been exhibited around the world and his software agent “Blogbot” won the IBM New Media Award a the Stuttgart Festival for Expanded Media in Germany. He is currently working as a researcher in the Social Media Group at the MIT Media Lab.
